Dame Siobhan Davies wins Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations to Trinity Laban Honorary Fellow Dame Siobhan Davies CBE, who has been awarded the De Valois Award for Outstanding Achievement at the 2024 National Dance Awards.

The winners were announced during a special ceremony at London’s Barbican Centre on 9 June 2025, marking the 25th anniversary of the Awards. Presented by the Critics’ Circle, the National Dance Awards celebrate excellence in performance and choreography, with winners selected by a panel of 60 dance critics for work presented between 1 January and 31 December 2024.

The De Valois Award, the ceremony’s highest honour, recognises lifetime achievement and outstanding contribution to the art form. Dame Siobhan Davies, one of the UK’s most influential contemporary choreographers, was chosen for her significant impact on dance in Britain and beyond. She is the founder and director of Siobhan Davies Dance and the Siobhan Davies Studios in South London, both central to the development of contemporary dance in the UK.

Dance critic Sanjoy Roy delivered the official citation on behalf of the Critics’ Circle Dance Section.

Dame Siobhan Davies was named an Honorary Fellow of Trinity Laban in 1996, and her continued innovation and leadership in the field serve as an inspiration to our students, staff, and alumni alike.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Dame Siobhan on this well-deserved recognition.
